OUR OBJECTIVES

Objective1: Strengthening systemic transparency, quality, and the harmonization of qualifications and micro-credentials aimed at employability, inclusion, and lifelong learning; strengthening partnerships and social dialogue. Objective2: Effectiveness of credentials and qualifications of all types and levels for socioeconomic and employment purposes in the context of a rapid and multiple transformation of professions, skills need, and the impact of global factors (green, digital, and AI transition). Objective3: International comparability, credibility, recognition of qualifications and micro-credentials, and referencing of regional and continental qualification frameworks in Africa and beyond.

OUR FUNCTIONS

OUR FUNCTIONS

Communication function: to increase clarity and transparency regarding the main features of the qualifications system, the types of qualifications, mobility and progression pathways (vertical, horizontal), total or partial qualifications, the application of recognition of prior learning for different purposes, quality assurance characteristics, recognition of foreign qualifications, and the roles and interactions of existing institutions concerning qualifications and the NQF-GB. Reform function: to support and contribute to the review, adjustment, and reform of essential policies and mechanisms to improve the internal and external performance of the education and training system and to achieve the objectives set for the NQF. The creation of a comprehensive and systemic NQF is, in itself, an important reform in the education and training landscape.
